In my experience humility is a great disposition to have. I’m a strong supporter of the Socratic idea. If you come at something from the position of knowing nothing about it, regardless of your actual knowledge, you’ll find that you learn and take away a lot more. Certainly there is room for confidence but you can be confident and humble at the same time.
I also find people are generally far more receiving to someone who is showing a bit of humility vs ones flaunting their knowledge or their perceived knowledge. If you do make a mistake people are far more forgiving if you started from a position of humility. Not to mention it will be far less embarrassing if you weren’t just full of yourself a few moments before.
Take a lesson from the pup in this photo! Start from the bottom you can only go up from there.
